Bitter fighting continues today over the town of Bandar-e-Charak, the site of initial coalition forces landings on the Iranian mainland. After initially losing the town, Iran now claims to have recovered it via a mechanized assault combining technicals from the IRGC and a battalion of armour from the Artesh. Gen Spademani, head of the IRGC claims to have ‘devastated’ coalition air power using ‘only a scout car and faith in the Prophet Muhammad’. Coalition forces deny losing the town and indicate that Iranian forces suffered ‘massive casualties’ and were ‘so disoriented they were crashing into trees and abandoning their vehicles’. Whilst the status of the town is uncertain, we can be sure that fighting is likely to continue for some time.
