Coalition Marine Forces pushing on Qeshm suffered heavy losses to Irani Armour units in what one reporter terms an epic battle. It is reported that two platoons of the US Marine Expeditionary force engaged with a single platoon of Irani T-72’s in a battle that lasted over 10 minutes almost looking like old fashioned jousting as tanks and armoured fighting vehicles closed into melee range.
